ABOUT AFEEC
Asean Federation of Electrical Engineering Contractors (AFEEC) was formed on 5th August 1979 at the Batulao Village Club, Batangas, Philippines with the firm belief and conviction that Asean solidarity, strength and corporation in the world economic struggle for survival, progress and development is indispensably necessary. AFEEC was formed by five Asean electrical industry associations from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand which represent a cross-section of the various entities in their respective countries in the Asean region engaged in electrical engineering and contracting.

The five founders were Mr Djuhana Djoekardi of Association of Indonesian Electrical Contractors (now known as Association of Indonesian Electrical and Mechanical Contractors, AKLI), Mr Francisco C. Gonzalez of Society of Philippines Electrical Contractors & Suppliers (SPECS), Dr. K. K. Lim of United Electrical Association of Malaysia (now known as The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia, TEEAM), Ir Milton Tan Hong Mong of Singapore Electrical Contractors Association (now known as Singapore Electrical Contractors and Licenced Electrical Workers, SECA) and Mr Sirilak Chandrangsu of Thai Contractors Association (now known as Thai Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Association, TEMCA).

As a non-government organisation recognised and affiliated to the Asean, AFEEC looks forward to the standardisation of electrical engineering contracting practices in the five Asean member countries and would work towards the higher level of professionalism of the electrical engineering contracting industry. AFEEC is a member of The Federation of Asian and Pacific Electrical Contractors Associations (FAPECA). Besides, AFEEC has affiliation with the International Association of Electrical Contractors (AIE) and the International Forum of Electrical Contractors (IFEC).
